A reducing subspace of \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\) is a closed subspace which is closed under integer shifts and special dilation operations (see the last line on page 1339). In this paper, the authors introduce the notion of weak homogeneous affine bi-frame (WHABF) in (1.8) and a similar notion of weak nonhomogeneous affine bi-frame (WNABF) in (1.9) for a reducing subspace of \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\). In Theorem 3.1, the authors completely characterize a weak nonhomogeneous affine bi-frame for a reducing subspace of \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\). Furthermore, under assumptions 1--3 on page 1342, the authors present a generalized oblique extension principle for constructing such a weak nonhomogeneous affine bi-frame in a reducing subspace of \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\). These results are interesting extensions of the well-known oblique extension principle developed by \textit{I. Daubechies} et al. [Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. 14, No. 1, 1--46 (2003; Zbl 1035.42031)].
