This work gives a geometric interpretation of the trigonometric Ruijsenaars duality. Let us recall that Ruijsenaars and Schneider introduced in 1986 a deformation of the non-relativistic integrable many-body systems, whose deformed systems are called relativistic Calogero systems. This deformation has many applications. In this paper, the authors give a Poisson-Lie interpretation of the duality between two forms of the Ruijsenaars-Schneider system. After some recalls about the geometry of the standard Heisenberg double of \(u(n)\), the authors show that the collections of commuting Hamiltonians of the systems in duality descend from families which are dual to each other in a Poisson-Lie interpretation. As a byproduct, the authors obtain a simple proof of the symplectomorphism property of the duality map, which is an important property showed by Ruijsenaar.
