The vast majority of combinatorial objects are rigid in the sense that they have no non-trivial symmetry. The author proves a result that partially explains this phenomenon by showing that, roughly speaking, all interesting subgroups of Sym(n) except Alt(n) and Sym(n) act regularly almost always on the orbits of the induced action on the power set of \(\{\) 1,2,...,n\(\}\).
