The Weyl character formula of polynomial representations of the complex simple Lie algebras \(sl(n)\) is the Jacobi-Trudi identity for Schur polynomials, which occupies a central position in the theory of symmetric polynomials. The paper gives a new self-contained proof of the super- analog in the context of Lie super algebras. First the authors start with the usual determinant definition of super Schur polynomials. Then the right hand side of the Jacobi-Trudi identity is shown to be a supersymmetric polynomial which gives rise to a \(\mathbb{Z}\)-basis for the supersymmetric polynomials. Finally by comparing coefficients they prove the coincidence of the two bases. A couple of consequent results are also discussed.
