For a positive integer \(m\), the paper under review studies the category of \(m\)-cyclic complexes over the category of projective modules for a finite dimensional hereditary algebra \(A\). One of the main results describes almost split sequences in the category of \(m\)-cyclic complexes. This is used to prove existence of Hall polynomials for the category of \(m\)-cyclic complexes in the case when \(A\) is representation finite and \(m>1\) and thus define the Hall algebra of this category and also its localization in the sense of Bridgeland. It is shown that the associated generic Bridgeland-Hall algebra contains a subalgebra isomorphic to the integral form of the corresponding quantum enveloping algebra. This provides a construction of the corresponding simple Lie algebra.
