Projective spaces have connections to many branches of discrete mathematics including coding theory, algebraic geometry, group theory, design theory, graph theory and cryptology. There is a particularly strong connection between arcs in projective geometry and the study of maximal distance separable codes. The authors give an extensive survey of finite projective spaces and list a large number of open questions concerning this area. Specifically, they describe \(k\)-arcs, \(k\)-caps, ovals, ovoids, spreads, curves, unitals, maximal arcs, flocks, \(m\)-systems and BLT-systems. In each section, they list a significant number of open problems. The paper also contains an extensive bibliography of the foundational literature.
