The authors deal with the nodal sets of the eigenfunctions of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator, which are the trace on the boundary of the eigenfunctions of the Steklov Laplacian. The main result of the paper asserts that if \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) has analytic boundary and \(u\) is an eigenfunction associated with the eigenvalue \(\lambda\), then \[ \mathcal{H}^{n-2}(\{x\in\partial\Omega:u(x)=0\})\in O(\lambda^6). \] The authors also prove a doubling condition for general second-order elliptic operator, which is used to prove a doubling condition for the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator. This last result is needed to complete the proof of the main theorem. In a note added in the proof, the authors cite very recent papers and preprints improving their results up to the optimal bounds.
