The paper is concerned with the study of solutions to \[ -\Delta^2 u=|u|^{p-1}u\quad\text{in}\quad{\mathbb R}^n,\quad n\geq 2, \quad p>1. \] Some Liouville type theorems for stable (or stable outside of a compact set) solutions are obtained. The approach relies on various integral estimates and monotonicity formulae. The corresponding sixth-order Joseph-Lundgreen exponent is also derived.
