A group \(G\) \textit{virtually} has a property \(X\) if there is a finite index subgroup \(G'\) of \(G\) with the property \(X\). In this paper some residual properties of the fundamental groups of geometric 3-manifolds are studied. For a prime number \(p\), a group \(G\) is said to be \textit{residually} \(p\) if every non trivial element of \(G\) survives in a finite \(p\)-group quotient of \(G\) and \textit{residually torsion-free nilpotent} if every non trivial element of \(G\) survives in a torsion-free nilpotent quotient of \(G\). Then the following main result is proved in the paper. Theorem: Let \(M\) be a geometric \(3\)-manifold. Then the fundamental group \(\pi_1(X)\) is virtually residually \(p\). Furthermore, \(\pi_1(X)\) is virtually residually torsion-free nilpotent precisely when \(M\) does not admit a Sol geometry.
