The authors of the paper under review consider exponentially stable \(C_0\)-semigroups of operators on reflexive Banach spaces. For such a semigroup, they consider its generator \(A\) and construct an unbounded functional calculus \(f\mapsto f(A)\) for bounded analytic functions \(f\) on the left half-plane. The construction is inspired by systems theory and involves Toeplitz operators.
