Topological structure of direct limits in the category of uniform spaces (Q960848): Difference between revisions

The authors present an explicit description of the topology and uniformity of direct limits in the category of uniform spaces. They apply this description to obtain a simple criterion for the continuity of maps defined on uniform direct limits and to recognize the topological structure of direct limits in some related categories from topological algebra and functional analysis, namely the category of locally convex topological spaces and the category of topological groups.
