The author studies the initial-boundary value problem and the corresponding stationary boundary value problem for the discrete Boltzmann equation on a bounded one-dimensional region \(0<x<d\). The main results are the theorems stating that: (1) stationary solution exists for any boundary data, (2) this solution is unique in a neighbourhood of a constant Maxwellian, (3) if both initial and boundary data are close to a constant Maxwellian then unique solution to the initial-boundary value problem exists globally in time and converges to the corresponding stationary solution exponentially as time goes to infinity.
