At first the authors give a simple formula for the duals of the FIR filters associated with bivariate box spline functions. Then they construct non-separable compactly supported biorthogonal wavelets associated with box spline functions. The wavelets can have arbitrarily high regularities. This paper generalizes results for the univariate setting of \textit{A. Cohen}, \textit{I. Daubechies} and \textit{J.-C. Feauveau} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 45, No. 5, 485-560 (1992; Zbl 0776.42020)].
