On a class of semipositone quasilinear elliptic boundary value problems (Q5953919): Difference between revisions

This paper deals with the following boundary value problem: \[ \begin{cases} \sum^N_{i=1} A_i(u){\partial^2 u\over\partial x_i^2}+\lambda f(u)=0 \quad\text{in }\Omega,\\ u|_{\partial \Omega}=0,\end{cases}\tag{1} \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded smooth domain, \(\lambda >0\) is a parameter, \(f\) is a given function. Under some suitable assumptions for \(\Omega,f\) and \(A_i\), the authors prove the existence results of positive solutions for (1) with nondegenerate anisotropic diffusion. A proof of the main result is based on the upper and lower solution method.
