In Section 1, a brief and selective survey of nonstandard continuity is given. In Section 2, the authors formulate a principle which relates certain continuity and homomorphy properties of an internal mapping between nonstandard extensions of topological groups and the nonstandard extension of its ``observable trace''. By this principle former stability results of the authors [Ill. J. Math. 48, No. 4, 1183--1189 (2004; Zbl 1058.22007)] and the second author [J. Log. Anal. 2, Article 3, 15 p. (2010; Zbl 1275.22006)] can be strengthened and proved easier.
