The paper under review presents a new concept of orthogonality based on the concept of $p$-angular distance, which generalizes two of the important orthogonality relations in the setting of normed linear spaces, namely, the Singer orthogonality and the isosceles orthogonality. Some important properties of this notion of orthogonality are also discussed. Furthermore, a characterization of real inner product spaces among real normed spaces is proved in this nicely written article. The concept of orthogonality is an important tool in exploring the geometric aspects of normed spaces. In the view of the reviewer, this is a nice article which might also find applications elsewhere, especially towards a better understanding of the geometry and structure of normed spaces.
