Multiplicative Ehresmann connections (Q6098434): Difference between revisions

The authors extend the theory of multiplicative Ehressmann connections to general submersions of Lie groupoids covering the identity. Unlike the case of locally trivial Lie groupoids, connections as such do not always exist in the general case. The authors give the obstructions for their existence and show that a properness assumption ensures their existence. The standard apects of connection theory (connection 1-forms, curvature, Bianchi identity, holonomy) are developed thoroughly.
