In [Adv. Comput. Math. 18, No. 2--4, 269--296 (2003; Zbl 1019.42020)], \textit{H. O. Kim}, \textit{R. Y. Kim} and {J. K. Lim} introduced the notion of quasi-biorthogonal frame wavelets and constructed the one-dimensional quasi-biorthogonal frame wavelets. The author [Acta Math. Sin., Chin. Ser. 51, No. 1, 81--90 (2008; Zbl 1164.42027)] presented a new matrix extension principle to construct higher-dimensional quasi-biorthogonal frame wavelets. In this paper, he studies the local properties and cardinalities of quasi-biorthogonal frame wavelets and presents a split trick of quasi-biorthogonal frame wavelets.
