A complex Banach space \(\mathbb{X}\) is said to have the complex Mazur-Ulam property if for any complex Banach space \(\mathbb{Y}\) every surjective isometry from the unit sphere \(S_{\mathbb{X}}\) of \(\mathbb{X}\) onto the unit sphere \(S_{\mathbb{Y}}\) of \(\mathbb{Y}\) admits an extension to a surjective real-linear isometry from \(\mathbb{X}\) onto \(\mathbb{Y}.\) The authors prove here that every commutative JB\(^{*}\)-triple, represented as a space of continuous functions, satisfies the complex Mazur-Ulam property. They further show that every abelian \(C^*\)-algebra satisfies the complex Mazur-Ulam property.
