In the paper under the review, the authors define the exterior square gamma factors for irreducible cuspidal representations of the general linear group GL\(_n (F)\), for a finite field \(F\), following the classical work of Jacquet and Shalika, and using a finite field analogue of the Jacquet-Shalika integral. The introduced exterior square gamma factors are expressed in terms of Bessel functions. For the level-zero representations, the authors also relate the introduced exterior square gamma factors over finite fields to those over local fields.
