The authors investigate limit cycles which bifurcate under small perturbations from the period annuli of the system \[ \dot x= y K(x,y)+\epsilon P(x,y), \;\dot y= -x K(x,y)+\epsilon Q(x,y), \] where \(P(x,y)\) and \(Q(x,y)\) are arbitrary real polynomials of degree \(n\), and \(K\) is a polynomial of the form \(K(x,y)=\prod_{j=1}^k ((x-a_j)^2+(y-b_j)^2)\), where \((a_j,b_j) \) are \(k\) different points in \(\mathbb{R}^2\) satisfying \(0<r_1<\dots <r_k\), \(r_j=\sqrt{a_j^2+b_j^2}\) (\(j=1,\dots,k)\). It is studied how many limit cycles bifurcate, up to a first order analysis, from all period annuli of the unperturbed system simultaneously, where the estimations are sought in terms of \(n\) and \(k\). It is also proved that the associated Abelian integral is piecewise rational.
