The paper is concerned with a polynomial system and the results obtained are closely related to the number of limit cycles. The authors first give necessary and sufficient conditions for a cubic system to have a conic center at the origin. Then they investigate this kind of systems inside the class of all polynomial systems of degree \(n\). An upper bound for the number of zeros of the Abelian integrals is obtained.
