Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra and let \(U_\epsilon(\mathfrak{g})\) be the associated quantum group at an \(l\)-th root of unity \(\epsilon\). The quantum Frobenius map is a homomorphism \(Fr\) from the quantum group \(U_\epsilon(\mathfrak{g})\) to the integral form of the enveloping algebra \(\mathcal U_{\mathbb Z}(\mathfrak{g})\), introduced by \textit{G. Lusztig} [Contemp. Math. 82, 59--77 (1989; Zbl 0665.20022); Geom. Dedicata 35, No. 1--3, 89--114 (1990; Zbl 0714.17013)]. In this paper the author gives a simple construction of this map for the positive part of the quantum group attached to an arbitrary Cartan datum in the nondivisible case. This is done using the language of Hall algebras: the Hall algebra construction realizes the positive part \(U^+\) of the quantum group, as an algebra of functions on the moduli space of quiver representations, the restriction of \(Fr\) ro \(U^+\) is interpreted as a restriction to the fixed-point set for the action of a nonsplit torus. The existence of \(Fr\) is then recovered from the existence of \(Fr|_{U^+}\). The same strategy is applied to give a geometric construction of the quantum Frobenius on \(q\)-Schur algebras.
