After presenting a compelling motivation and the approach utilized in this work, the authors provide a discussion of the mechanics of certain types of objects (test bodies) with internal degrees of freedom in general non-Euclidean spaces. In their previous work they dealt with rigid bodies in the flat Euclidean space. Herein the authors propose a method based on nonholonomic frames. The approach used is compared with other studies. Inter alia, they present possible applications (nonlinear elasticity) as well as give simple examples. The paper is well written, adequately referenced and will be especially useful to those who work in this and related areas.
