This is a survey paper on results devoted to various (often descriptive set theoretical) topological properties of locally convex spaces. The introduction recalls, e.g., the notions strong realcompactness by Kakol and Sliwa, quasi-Suslin spaces by Valdivia, web-compact and (strong) web-bounding spaces by Orihuela. Results characterizing the properties and results relating strong realcompactness of \(X\), or strong web-boundedness of \(X\), to topological properties of spaces of continuous functions and their duals (some geometrical version of Baire category theorem and bornological for \(C_c(X)\) in the first case, or web-bounded, Lindelöf \(\Sigma\), \(\Sigma\)-quasi-Suslin for \(C_p(X)\) and dual weak-star spaces in the latter case) are presented. The second section investigates the class \(\mathfrak G\) introduced by Cascales and Orihuela. These spaces are described in terms of a particular representation of their weak-star dual. Their weak topology is angelic, their weak-star dual is quasi-Suslin. Countable tightness of the weak topology for spaces in \(\mathfrak G\) is characterized in terms of realcompactness, \(K\)-analyticity, or Lindelöf property of the weak-star dual. For separable spaces \(E\) in \(\mathfrak G\), \(K\)-analyticity of \(C_p(X,E)\) is characterized by the existence of a (relatively countably) compact resolution. Weak Lindelöf property of Fréchet spaces and some stronger properties ((strong) WCG property, weak (\(K\)-) analyticity, metrizability of the unit ball in the Mackey dual) are studied in the third section. The Fréchet-Urysohn property of spaces in \(\mathfrak G\) implies metrizability due to a result of the fourth section. A list of ten open problems concludes the paper.
