\textit{P. Ozsváth} and \textit{Z. Szabó} established a purely combinatorical algorithm to calculate the Heegaard Floer homology for contact 3-manifolds arising from a negative definite plumbing with at most one bad vertex in [Geom. Topol. 7, 185--224 (2003; Zbl 1130.57302)]. It is natural to ask which class the contact invariant lies in. The author reinterprets a result of \textit{O. Plamenevskaya} [Math. Res. Lett. 11, No. 4, 547--561 (2004; Zbl 1064.57031)] for this type of contact 3-manifolds and finds that the contact invariant is the dual of the first Chern class for an almost complex negative definite plumbing. Here, the duality was defined in Ozsváth and Szabó's paper. Combining this interpretation and a result of \textit{P. Ozsváth, A. Stipsicz} and \textit{Z. Szabó} in [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2005, No. 54, 3385--3401 (2005; Zbl 1092.57014)] about a property of the contact invariant for planar open books, an obstruction to planar open books for this type of contact 3-manifolds is obtained. As a result, the author finds some new contact 3-manifolds that do not admit a planar open book.
