Let \( K \subset {\mathbb R}^n \) be a convex body, \( |K| \) be its volume, \( h_K (x,u):= \max \{ (y-x)\cdot u : y \in K \} \), and let \( \phi : [0, \infty) \to [0, \infty) \) be a strictly increasing convex function such that \( \phi (0) = 0 \), \( {\mathcal C }\) be the class of such functions, and \( {\mathcal C }_s \subset {\mathcal C } \) be the class of such strictly convex functions. Denote by \( {\mathcal K}^{n} \) the class of convex bodies in \( {\mathbb R}^n \). The authors define the notions of {Orlicz mean body} \( H_{\phi} K\) of \( K \) as the convex body with support function \[ h_{H_{\phi} K} (u) = \inf \left \{ \lambda > 0 : \frac{1}{|K|} \int_K \phi \left( \frac{h_K (x,u)}{\lambda} \right) \text{d} x \leq 1 \right\}, \] and that of {parallel chord movement along \( v \in S^{n-1}\)} as a family of convex bodies \( K_t \in {\mathbb R}^n \) defined by \[ K_t = \left\{ z+\beta (z|v^{\bot})tv : z \in K, 0\leq t \leq 1 \right\}, \] where \( \beta \) is a continuous real function on \(v^{\bot} \). The main results of the paper are: { Theorem 1.1.} If \( \phi \in {\mathcal C }\) and \( K \) is a convex body in \({\mathbb R}^n \), then \( | H_{\phi} K |/| K |\) is minimized when \( K \) is an ellipsoid. If \( \phi \in {\mathcal C }_s \), then ellipsoids are the only minimizers. { Lemma 3.3.} If \( \phi \in {\mathcal C } \) and \( K \in {\mathcal K}^n \), then for all \( \psi \in GL(n) \) and \( \gamma \in {\mathbb R}^n \), \[ H_{\phi} (\psi K + \gamma) = \psi H_{\phi} K. \] This means that \( | H_{\phi} K |/| K |\) is an affine invariant. {Lemma 4.4.} Let \( \phi \in {\mathcal C } \), and suppose that \(\{ K_t : 0\leq t \leq 1 \} \) is a parallel chord movement along the direction \( v \in S^{n-1}\) with speed function \( \beta \). Then the volume of \( H_{\phi} K_t \) is a strictly convex function of \( t \) unless \( \beta \) is affine.
