Let \(X\) be a smooth projective variety and \(F\) a big line bundle on \(X\). Suppose that \(h\) is a (singular) metric on \(F\) and denote by \(\mathcal{I}(h)\) the multiplier ideal sheaf associated to \(h\). The analytic Nadel vanishing theorem asserts that the cohomology groups \(H^i(X, K_X \otimes F \otimes \mathcal{I}(h))\) vanish for all \(i >0\) provided that \(h\) has strictly positive curvature. The article under review studies the situation where the metric \(h\) is replaced by a metric \(h_{\min}\) with minimal singularities or a metric \(h_{\mathrm{Siu}}\) of Siu type. Note that such metrics \(h_{\min}\) and \(h_{\mathrm{Siu}}\) never have strictly positive curvature, except in the trivial case that \(F\) is ample, so Nadel vanishing cannot be applied for these metrics. Since for big line bundles \(F\), however, \(\mathcal{I}(h_{\min})\) is conjectured to coincide with the asymptotic multiplier ideal sheaf \(\mathcal{I}(\| F \|)\), for which vanishing is known, one expects certain vanishing results also for \(\mathcal{I}(h_{\min})\). The author shows that this is in fact true and shows that Nadel vanishing for big line bundles \(F\) as stated above still holds true for metrics of type \(h_{\min}\) and \(h_{\mathrm{Siu}}\). The proof uses the theory of harmonic integrals.
