The paper under review deals with one-dimensional Schrödinger operators with a Robin or Dirichlet condition at one endpoint and a boundary condition containing a rational Herglotz-Nevanlinna function of the eigenvalue parameter at the other. \textit{P. A. Binding} et al. obtained various direct and inverse spectral results for such problems by using Darboux-type transformations [Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 45, No. 3, 631--645 (2002; Zbl 1019.34027); J. Comput. Appl. Math. 148, No. 1, 147--168 (2002; Zbl 1019.34028)]. Their method was recently extended by the reviewer to boundary value problems containing rational Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions of the eigenvalue parameter in both boundary conditions [``Essentially isospectral transformations and their applications'', Ann. Mat. Pura Appl. (to appear), \url{doi:10.1007/s10231-019-00934-w}; J. Math. Phys. 60, No. 6, 063501, 23 p. (2019; Zbl 1416.81056)]. Reviewer's remarks: The statements (i) and (ii) in Section 2 are obviously false. All the results of Section 3 are already contained in [\textit{C. T. Fulton}, Proc. R. Soc. Edinb., Sect. A, Math. 77, 293--308 (1977; Zbl 0376.34008); the reviewer, Inverse Probl. 21, No. 4, 1315--1330 (2005; Zbl 1085.34004)].
