In the breakthrough paper [Acta Math. 216, No. 2, 325--388 (2016; Zbl 1372.52007)], \textit{Y. Huang} et al. introduced two new family of geometric measures, namely dual curvature measures and dual area measures of convex bodies. Dual curvature measures include two important known cases, integral curvature and cone volume measure. In recent years, the Minkowski type problem for dual curvature measures has extensively studied, that is, the dual Minkowski problem, which aims to characterize the dual curvature measures for convex bodies. In the present paper, the authors study dual area measures of convex bodies. They prove that for \(q\neq 0\) if two convex bodies in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) containing the origin in their interiors have the same dual area measures, then they coincide. Using this uniqueness result, they also obtain that the weak convergence of the \(q\)-th dual area measure implies the convergence of the corresponding convex bodies in the Hausdorff metric and that the solution to the dual Minkowski problem is continuous with respect to \(q\).
