In the paper under review the authors present a commutant realization of Odake's vertex algebra \(\mathcal{O}\) of central charge \(c=9\). Odake's algebra is an extension of the \(N=2\) superconformal vertex algebra with \(c=9\). Let \(\mathcal{W}\) be the vertex algebra associated to the tensor product of three copies of the \(b c \beta \gamma\) system, and \(V_k(sl_2)\) be the universal affine vertex algebra of level \(k\) associated to the affine Lie algebra \(\widehat{sl}_2\). In the paper under review the authors investigate the commutant vertex algebra \(\mathcal{C}=\text{Com}(V_0(sl_2), \mathcal{W})\). They prove that \(V_{-3/2}(sl_2)\) and \(\mathcal{O}\) form a Howe pair inside of \(\mathcal{C}\).
