A new approach to simulating stochastic delayed systems

From MaRDI portal

This paper considers a formulation for deriving stochastic delay differential equations that are equivalent in distribution to delay chemical master equations, that describe the probability distribution of delayed chemical reactions. Two simple test models involving two reacting chemical species are considered: one with five reactions with two delayed, and the other with a bistable property. Simulation results are compared with direct delay stochastic simulations via the DSSA, showing excellent performance with respect to both computational efficiency and accuracy.
