Discrete non-abelian X-ray transforms
This work positions itself within a well-established lineage initiated by \textit{S. V. Manakov} and \textit{V. E. Zakharov} [Lett. Math. Phys. 5, 247--253 (1981; \url{doi:10.1007/BF00420705})], and subsequently developed by \textit{R. S. Strichartz} [Am. Math. Mon. 89, 377--384, 420--423 (1982; Zbl 0499.44003)], who investigated nonabelian generalizations of the X-ray transform in relation to integrable systems and inverse scattering. \N\NBy returning to this foundational framework and introducing a discrete analogue, the text addresses a natural yet nontrivial gap: the adaptation of non-abelian integral transforms to a discrete setting. The originality of the work lies in the combination of the following elements: a discrete non-abelian X-ray transform; non-overdetermined reconstruction procedures; a layer-stripping algorithm that is explicit and exact; and a bridge between discrete and continuous non-abelian frameworks.\N\NIn summary, the text outlines a mathematically ambitious and potentially influential set of results. Its ultimate impact will depend on the rigor of the proofs, the clarity of the discrete-continuous correspondence, and the substantiation of the novelty claims within the broader literature.
