    The authors study the weak and strong convergence of the solutions to the second order nonhomogeneous evolution equation \[ \begin{cases} u^{\prime\prime}( t) -cu^{\prime}( t) \in Au( t) +f( t) \text{ a.\,e. }t\in( 0,+\infty), \\ u( 0) =u_{0},\;\sup_{t\geq0}| u( t) | <+\infty, \end{cases} \] where \(A\) is a multivalued monotone operator in a Hilbert space \(H\), \(c\geq0\), and \(f:\mathbb{R}^{+}\rightarrow H\) is a given function. Some applications to first order evolution equations are given.
