Viewing the \(2\)-adic numbers as formal bi-infinite series of \(0\)'s and \(1\)'s one obtains a continuous shift dynamical system \(S: \mathbb Z_2\to \mathbb Z_2\). The author gives a classification of all endomorphisms of \(S\) and discusses related dynamical systems.
