The aim of the authors is to study coercive inequalities on finite dimensional metric spaces with probability measures which do not have volume doubling property. This class of inequalities includes the well-known Poincaré inequality and a variety of stronger coercive inequalities with variance on the left-hand side replaced by a functional with a stronger growth, as for instance in case of the Log-Sobolev inequality. Hebisch and Zegarlinski are interested in probability measures on non-compact spaces, like, for example, finite products \(\mathbb R^n\) of real lines, as well as certain non-compact groups, including Heisenberg group.
