On traces of Hecke operators on the spaces of cusp forms of half-integral weight (Q1098874)

Let N be a positive integer such that \(2\leq ord_ 2(N)=\mu \leq 4\), and put \(M=2^{-\mu}N\). Let \(\chi\) be an even character modulo N such that \(\chi^ 2=1\). As usual, S(2k,N) denotes the space of cusp forms of weight 2k with the trivial character on \(\Gamma_ 0(N)\), \(S(k+,N,\chi)\) denotes the space of cusp forms of weight \(k+\) with the character \(\chi\) on \(\Gamma_ 0(N)\). When \(\mu =2\), let \(S(k+,N,\chi)_ k\) denote the subspace of \(S(k+,N,\chi)\) consisting of the forms \(f(z)=\sum a(n)e(nz)\) whose Fourier coefficients \(a(n)=0\) whenever \(\epsilon (-1)^ kn\equiv 2,3(mod 4)\) where \(\epsilon =(\frac{-1}{M_ 0})\) and \(\chi =(\frac{M_ 0}{ }).\) In this note the author gives a relation between the trace of the Hecke operator \(\tilde T_{k+,N,\chi}(n^ 2)\), \((n,N)=1\), on \(S(k+,N,\chi)\) and the trace of the Hecke operator \(T_{2k,N/2}(n)\) on S(2k,N/2), and also a relation between the trace of \(\tilde T_{k+,N,\chi}(n^ 2)\) on \(S(k+,N,\chi)_ k\) and the trace of \(T_{2k,M}(n)\) on S(2k,M). These relations include those found by \textit{S. Niwa} [Nagoya Math. J. 66, 183-202 (1977; Zbl 0351.10018)] and \textit{W. Kohnen} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 333, 32-72 (1982; Zbl 0475.10025)].
