On measures of compactness in fuzzy topological spaces (Q1105220)

In the same philosophy as in earlier papers [see \textit{P. Wuyts} and the second author, Fuzzy sets systems 19, 51-80 (1986; Zbl 0606.54004) and the second author (1985; Zbl 0568.54007)], we presents measures in fuzzy topological spaces by which one can determine to which extent a topological property, in this case compactness, is fulfilled. Consistency results and applications of these measures are given. Thus e.g. the most illuminating result concerning one of these measures is a Tikhonov type result. If c denotes the compactness measure then it says that c(\(\prod_{j\in J}X_ j)=\inf_{j\in J}c(X_ j)\).
