When a semi-explicit differential-algebraic equation of index-1 has a singularity in the constraints at a single point, it may happen that the solution is well defined through-out the singularity. In order to solve problems of this kind numerically, the authors apply regularization. Convergence is proved for linear differential-algebraic equations, and numerical examples are included for some linear, as well as nonlinear problems.
