The authors investigate the quadrature method for Cauchy-type singular integral equations with a logarithmic singularity in the kernel. Previous methods for solving the resulting algebraic system required \(O(N^ 2)\) operations. This paper gives a faster algorithm for the generalized airfoil equation, which only requiers \(O(N\ln N)\) operations. The optimal convergence order is obtained.
