The author considers the classical Möbius plane \({\mathcal M} (q)\) of order \(q\), where \(q\) is odd. A \(k\)-arc in \({\mathcal M}(q)\) is a set of \(k\) points such that no three of them lie in a common circle. After constructing some examples, the author considers linear collineation groups preserving a given arc. His main result is that such a group must be dihedral or cyclic, provided that \(q\) is not a power of 3.
