    The authors investigate some properties of spectral approximation \((sp)\) for Wiener-Hopf operators. Let \(W_ \tau (a)\) be a finite section of the Wiener-Hopf operator \(W(a)\) considered in the space \(L_ 2 (0, \infty)\) (in \(L_ 2 (0, \tau)\) for \(W_ \tau (a))\). Let also be \(B(a) = \{\lambda : \lambda \in \mathbb{C}\), \(\lambda = \lim \lambda_ n\) with \(\lambda_ n \in sp W_{\tau_ n} (a)\), \(\tau_ n \to \infty\}\). The main result is as follows. Theorem 1. Let \(a \in L^ \infty (R)\) be real-valued. Then \(sp_ \tau W(a) \subset sp W(a)\) for every \(\tau>0\), and given any \(\varepsilon > 0\), there is some \(\tau_ 0 > 0\) such that \(spW(a)\) is contained in the \(\varepsilon\)-neighborhood of \(spW_ \tau (a)\) for every \(\tau > \tau_ 0\). In particular, \(B(a) = spW(a)\).
