Applications of symplectic homology. I (Q1346314)

The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the symplectic homology construction given by \textit{A. Floer} and \textit{H. Hofer} [ibid. 215, No. 1, 37-88 (1994; Zbl 0810.58013)] via some applications concerned with ellipsoids and symplectic polydisks. Moreover we show how a symplectic capacity can be constructed from the symplectic homology theory. We assume the reader to be familiar with the results and notation in the paper cited above.
