The authors develop the \(C^*\)-dynamical system version of Morita equivalence due to \textit{F. Combes} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 49, 289-306 (1984; Zbl 0541.46057)]. Starting with a second countable locally compact transformation group \((G,T)\) such that \(H^2(T,\mathbb{Z})\) is countable, and a separable continuous-trace \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) with spectrum \(T\), they consider the \(C^*\)-dynamical systems \((A,\alpha)\) where the action \(\alpha\) of \(G\) on \(A\) induces the given one on \(T\). Then they prove that the set \(Br_G(T)\) of Morita equivalent classes \([A,\alpha]\) of such systems is a group under the tensor product: \([A,\alpha] [B,\beta]= [A\bigotimes_{C_0(T)} B,\alpha\otimes \beta]\). Then they analyse the structure of \(Br_G(T)\) in terms of Moore and Čech cohomology by studying the range of the homomorphism \(Br_G(T)\to Br_{\{e\}}(T)\cong H^3(T,\mathbb{Z})\) (where \(e\) is the unit of \(G\)). By the way, they characterize those stable separable continuous-trace \(C^*\)-algebras which admit an action of \(G\) inducing the given one on \(T\). The paper ends with some special cases, in particular when \(T=\mathbb{R}\).
