Distinguished subclasses of \(j_{qq}\)-inner functions were characterized in terms of the ADD parameters (\textit{D. Z. Arov} [|J. Sov. Math. 31, 2645-2659 (1985; Zbl 0572.47005)]). The membership of a given \(j_{qq}\)-inner function to the Smirnov class (or inverse Smirnov class) depends only on the conected pair for matrix-valued Hardy class functions, whereas the remaining part of the ADD parametrization, namely the associated singular matrix-valued Carathéodory function, has no influence on this membership. The problem was studied whether there exists a \(j_{qq}\)-inner function \(W\), belonging to the Smirnov class (or inverse Smirnov class), such that \(\Omega_1\) and \(\Omega_2\) are pseudocontinuable \(q\times q\) Carathéodory functions generated by \(W\).
