Auslander-Reiten components for group algebras of finite groups have been studied intensively. Strong results by Erdmann and others show that only a few tree classes can occur. Following the development for group algebras, Farnsteiner and others started to study Auslander-Reiten components for reduced enveloping algebras of Lie algebras in prime characteristic. Although some of the tools and results from the group case can be carried over, the two situations are not completely analogous. Therefore, there cannot be a common theory covering both situations. The paper under review contains both results analogous to and results different from the group case. The strongest results are obtained for the Lie algebra of a reductive algebraic group \(G\). In this case, certain stabilizer subgroups of \(G\) act on the set of stable Auslander-Reiten components. This article contains many detailed results which are too technical to be stated here. The main theorems, 5.2 and 5.5, exclude many potential tree classes. However, in contrast to the group case, components of type \(\mathbb{Z}[\widetilde A_{12}]\) do occur, viz. in the tame case, i.e., for complexity two.
