Continuing their work on gradations of uniformity and gradations of proximity [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 79, No. 3, 373-382 (1996; Zbl 0867.54015)], the authors introduce the concept of gradation of syntopogeneity and by means of this the concept of a fuzzy syntopogeneous structure as a unified treatment of fuzzy topology, fuzzy proximity and fuzzy uniformity. Amongst others they show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between the gradations of openness on \(X\) and perfect fuzzy topogeneous structures on \(X\), and between gradations of proximity on \(X\) and symmetrical fuzzy topogeneous structures on \(X\). Further, they investigate the gradation of openness associated with a fuzzy syntopogeneous space and the connections between gradations of quasi-uniformity on \(X\) and (classical) biperfect fuzzy topogeneous orders on \(X\) \((X\) a nonempty set).
