Let \(\alpha\) be a measurable action of a group \(G\) on a measurable space \((X,\mu)\) in which the measure \(\mu\) is \(G\)-invariant. The associated Koopman representation \(\pi:G\to U(L^2(X,\mu))\) is given by the formula \[ (\pi_t f)(x)=\sqrt{\frac{d\mu(\alpha_{t^{-1}}(x))}{d\mu(x)}}f(\alpha_{t^{-1}}(x)). \] Necessary conditions are known for the irreducibility of this representation. The paper under review shows that, for the group \(\mathrm{GL}_=(2\infty,\mathbb R)\) acting on the space of \(m\) infinite rows equipped with the Gaussian measure, these necessary conditions are also sufficient. In the latter case the paper also provides a description of the commutant of the von Neumann algebra generated by \(\pi\).
