The authors describe several variants of the monodromy theorem for the local Milnor fibration (for example, see Theorem 3.1.20 from [\textit{A. Dimca}, Singularities and topology of hypersurfaces. New York etc.: Springer-Verlag (1992; Zbl 0753.57001)]), which are specially adapted to the study of related problems in the case of compact Kähler manifolds and smooth complex quasi-projective varieties. Among other things, they improve Theorem 1.3 from [\textit{L. Qin} and \textit{B. Wang}, Geom. Topol. 22, No. 4, 2115--2144 (2018; Zbl 1398.32024)] as follows. Let \(f: X \rightarrow S^1\) be a fiber bundle over the circle with connected fiber \(F\) whose homology groups \(H_i(F,\mathbb C)\) are finite-dimensional vector space for all \(i.\) Then for any manifold \(X\) homotopically equivalent to a variety of the above two types the eigenvalues of the monodromy action on \(H_i(F,\mathbb C)\) are roots of unity. Moreover, in the first case the corresponding action is semi-simple and its Jordan blocks have size one, while in the second case the authors give an upper bound on the sizes of the Jordan blocks similar to \textit{B. Malgrange} [Invent. Math. 20, 171--172 (1973; Zbl 0264.14003)].
