In 1904 Minkowski introduced a homeomorphism of the segment \([0, 1]\), that gives monotonic bijections between rational and dyadic numbers in \([0, 1]\), and also between quadratic irrationals in \((0, 1)\) and rationals in \((0, 1)\). This homeomorphism is called Minkowski's question mark function. This function is know to be singular, strictly increasing, continuous, and surjective. In this paper the authors study analogues of Minkowski's question mark function that are designed for continued fractions with even or with odd partial quotients. They show that these functions are Hölder continuous with precise exponents, and that they linearize the appropriate versions of the Gauss and Farey maps. The paper contains interesting examples and nice illustrations.
